Yesterday, Steve Jobs made a second appearance during his medical leave to announce the latest OS for Mac computers and mobile devices at the WWDC 2011. He also announced iCloud services to sync data easily from any Apple devices (and PC if you use an iPhone or iPad). During the keynote speech, Apple announced the release of OSX 10.7 in July this year.

At SeeFile, we want to continue to provide the easiest DAM solution to install on a Mac. Since the first preview of Lion was made available, we had been working on a compatible version of SeeFile on the new OS.

Apple warned that it is possible to take complete control of a Mac if some malicious image files are opened. This is a serious concern for SeeFile Software since our product is used as a media bank and file delivery solution. We recommend an immediate upgrade to OSX 10.5.8 to Leopard's users.
SeeFile Software has announced the release of SeeFile 4.7, the web server software for sharing media files. Since 2003, SeeFile Software have developed and optimized a new approach to digital asset management and delivery solutions, offering an elegant web interface and easy to use DAM, accessible from any standard web browser. Back-end changes were SeeFile's focus during the development of 4.7, making page loads and image processing faster, optimizing the layout and adding extra functionality.
mac_mini.jpgApple introduced new hardware this week including an updated Mac Mini. SeeFile's Mac Mini bundles will now include this new hardware as well as the latest release of SeeFile, version 4.6.  The new Mini boosts some impressive specs including the NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics chip. This upgrade from the previous Intel integrated graphics will be a huge benefit to SeeFile which uses the graphics card and Apple's Core Image technology to generate previews and thumbnails.

The SeeFile Bundle includes the base Mac Mini with the following specs:
  • 2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
  • 1GB memory
  • 120GB hard drive
  • 8x double-layer SuperDrive
  • NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics

For those not familiar with the SeeFile Mac Mini bundles, we install the latest version of SeeFile Entry on a Mac Mini so our customers can simply plug the mini into their local network and begin sharing files immediately.  As usual we can customize any bundle with different versions of both SeeFile and the Mini if ,for example, you need more users or want a larger harddrive.
